Pink Sapphire Ring

The color of pink sapphires can vary from the vivid intense pink to a very pale baby pink. However, a lighter pink should not be considered lower quality nor should an intense color be seen as a higher quality. Until recently, pink sapphires were exceptionally rare and only found in a few locations in Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Burma. However, Pink sapphires have now become widely available, thanks to the new deposits found in Madagascar. Currently, pink sapphire have grown in demand to equal to that of blue sapphires, due to the extremely appealing color and excellent light reflection.
Pink is an excellent color for a sapphire ring and goes well with white gold and platinum. A pink sapphire ring can look really unique and strikingly beautiful, making it an ideal choice for someone with a young heart and free spirit.
As with all other sapphires, top-quality pink sapphire should have a uniform color, good cutting and little visible inclusions. Large pink sapphires over 4-carat are very rare and can be expensive. However, natural pink sapphires of 1-carat sizes are usually available at very reasonable prices.
After you wear your pink sapphire ring for a while, remember to wash it gently in warm soapy water, rinse and dry it. You can use a soft toothbrush to remove any grime and restore its natural beauty.
